I'm always trying to improve my style in my drawings. I do a little bit of everything from water color to pencil and more traditional art, but I am very fond of anime. I'm currently learning my way around Photoshop (very old version) which is interesting.
I also have a Deviantart account under 'nekokeeper' so I'll be moving some of my favorite pictures from there here too. Along with new stuff too.
This is a beautiful effect to soften images and photos, I found it on the internet but I can't recall where. I'll put it here so any one can use it^^ It's surprisingly easy.
Let's start.
1. Open the image you want to work with.
2. Duplicate the layer and on that duplicated layer click on Filters > Blur > Gaussian Blur. Input a radius of 10 and click OK. Change the layer's blending mode to Screen and the Opacity to 40%.
3. Duplicate the layer we just duplicated (the one with the gaussian blur) and change the blending mode to Overlay and the Opacity to 100%. It's done already! wasn't that easy?
After you get used to it you can modify as you like, I know some times I leave out the screen step when I don't want quite as much glow. ^^
